@ascclemens It's ultimately up to you to decide the extent to which you want to bear the burden of other people's bigotry, but personally I took a zero-tolerance approach to it, no exceptions made for family. I don't think it's worth the pain; you aren't obligated to compromise with them, and you don't deserve to suffer through it. (forgive me if you were just venting into the void, and didn't want unsolicited input)
